Senators Murkowski, Sullivan & Congressman Young: listen to Alaskans, Stop Pebble’s runaway train!
Alaska’s leaders should do everything they can to ensure that the Pebble Partnership submits a complete and honest permit application for review. On June 29, then-Governor Bill Walker weighed in with a letter to the Army Corps of Engineers - the Agency in charge of reviewing Pebble's first major permit - requesting that Pebble's permitting process be stopped until more information was provided. But Alaska's congressional delegation has remained silent on this inadequate process.
It is time for Senators Murkowski and Sullivan, and Congressman Young to listen to Alaskans who have said repeatedly that they want Bristol Bay's irreplaceable salmon fishery protected.
