Senators Murkowski, Sullivan & Congressman Young: listen to Alaskans, Stop Pebble’s runaway train!
Alaska’s leaders should do everything they can to ensure that the Pebble Partnership submits a complete and honest permit application. On June 29, Governor Bill Walker weighed in with a letter to the Army Corps - the Agency in charge of reviewing Pebble's first major permit. Gov. Walker requested that the Corps of Engineers suspend Pebble's permitting process until missing information is updated in Pebble's application. Meanwhile, Alaska's Congressional delegation remains silent.
It's time for Senators Murkowski, Sullivan and Representative Young to follow Governor Walker's lead and listen to their constituents who have said time and again that they want Bristol Bay's irreplaceable salmon fishery to be protected.
